St Alban's Cathedral, Kenora, OntarioDiocese of Keewatin Location The Diocese of Keewatin was established in 1902.   It straddles the border of the civil Provinces of Manitoba and Ontario covering 300,000 square miles stretching from the international border with the USA in the south up to the Hudson's Bay in the north.   It is in the Ecclesiastical Province of Rupert's Land.   The diocese is home to about 11,000 Anglicans who worship in 48 parishes that are served by 91 clergy, of those only 11 are paid and 189 layreaders.   Two-thirds of the diocese is in First Nation parishes.   There are five languages spoken in the diocese with any of the clergy and lay people in the diocese speaking at least two languages regularly.
